My name is Jeannine Miles and I am the Little Rock Birds Examiner at examiner.com. Not that I want to get picky here, but there are 3 things that I have issues with in the article, and wonder if you could provide citations for further information.

1) Molting DOES NOT leave a bird vulnerable to anything ... they do not molt all of their feathers at once as to prevent this from happening. The moodiness that the exhibit usually comes from the discomfort of the pin feathers poking through the skin. This can be overcome by allowing your pet parrot to bathe daily which softens up the pin feather casing and takes the edge off the uncomfortable feeling for the parrot.

2) A pin feather does not come in in a "wax" protection, but rather in a keratin protection (the same thing that our fingernails are made out of ... it's like a thin layer of our fingernails).

3) Why would you suggest a seed diet for a parrot who is molting? In your last paragraph you write, " ... it's particularly important that you provide your bird plenty of nutrients while he is molting. Fresh fruits and vegetables are ideal during this time, as is hard boiled eggs and turbo food such as rice. You can also go to your local pet store to pick up a seed based diet designed specifically for birds that are undergoing a molt."

I was completely with you until you wrote SEED BASED DIET ... better option, PELLET BASED DIET (like Harrison's High Protein) ...
