Hi again, as i mentioned in a previous post... Bruno has escaped.

I need some suggestions on how i can get him home, my heart is breaking and i have had a real run of bad luck and Im on verge of breaking down.

Yesterday when it happened i put his cage with prince in it out side, currently doing that again atm. Problem is i feel its putting more stress on my other birds cause now they are separated.
I've called and called him whilst driving round town.
I been to see the couple of breeders in town who also have alex's.
Been to his old home and surrounding areas.
Called my vet and the other in town as well as radio
I haven't heard a peep from him since i found, but failed to get him yesterday Argo.

Hearing my tiger two calling, they sound so sad... I have to stay strong for them but its so hard.... I want to focus all my energy on finding bruno but they need attention too.
Im currently sitting in absolute silence outside listening for him but its blowing a gale and it hard to hear anything over the wild birds inc birds of prey.

Please any suggestions.... Im willing to try/ do anything to reunite my babies

Try to be calm. Check with "911ParrotAlert". They list many lost & found birds. You say the weather is getting bad. He's lost & scared, so, he'll find someplace to hide & wait out the weather. Probably not far from where he got loose. Also, start a thread in our new "Lost & Found" section. You've alerted local vets, etc. Make posters / flyers to post around your area. Another forum that is active with lost birds is "Avian Nation". Be strong. Many birds DO make it home. When you can, go out calling & looking for him. I hesitate to ask, but, is he microchipped, by any chance?

No he's not microchipped.... I have hope he will return as my baby oxy escaped and was out for 3 days before he found his way to the neighbours gum tree. My biggest concern is his friend.... They have been together fir 18months and get is really fretting...... Searching the house and calling (i know that's good thing) but i swear he is crying and he is pulling away from me. I have only had prince and bruno fir just over a month....
I plan on doing fliers etc but i don't have a printer so need to Monday when the library opens and the local paper is not issued till Wednesday.

Any suggestions on how i can console prince? Oxy seems fine as long ad
s prince is around

I made an audio recording of a Jenday conure when my Jenday got out once. I played it as I went thru the neighborhood and he actually called back in response so we could locate him.

I know prince will go berserk again in the morning so i will record him. I hadn't thought of that, although i had thought of putting prince in the carrier and driving round

Have you put any ads on the Internet? Gumtree is a good one to post an ad.

Since the weather is not so good, Bruno shouldn't be too far away. Drive around your town and have a look, ask you neighbours, pet stores, parrot recuse/adoption centers and vets if they have seen Bruno. Do you know where there is lots of wild parrots around you? At my town, I know there's one place that there is wild cockatoos there every day. Bruno is very likely to be around the wild parrots, since he will probably feel safer with other birds. Other than that, I can't really think of anything else to do.

Hope you will be able to find Bruno soon!

Also alert your animal shelter, animal control or any local rescue. Whoever gets stray animals in your area. Even dog or cat shelters because if someone finds him they may ask those types of places for help.

And I'd try to ask a friend to borrow a printer to make signs rather than wait two more days.

You also might try putting a cage out with some favorite foods inside, maybe he will fly back to it.

thanks every one. i have alerted every one in my area via face book, radio and paper. aswell as seeing the hairdressers (u know people like to gossip when getting hair done), vets and the pet shop. i dont have an animal shelter in my area. i didnt post in the lost and found forum as i do not believecthere are any locals on here.

i have a cage outside with fresh water, seed, pellets aswell as fruit and nuts. each afternoon prince, oxy and i spend about an hr outside (birds in the cage) hoping that their calling may bring him home but still no luck.

im still so devastated about my loss but im feeling a bit better. i had to drag my self out of the slump for my other babies, and have been pouring my energy into training.

I'd put a flier up at the local school. Kids always know what happening around the hood.
