so I have a boing set up above parkers cage attached to the ceiling...He likes to lay on his back on the top of the cage and play with the bottom of the boing and the bell part...He Just got his wing caught in the cage bars on the top and could have broken his wing...luckly I was able to free him before he got hurt...PLEASE watch your babies when they are playing like this...I almost had a heart attack...He is dong fine now and his wing seems to be okay

Cody-Blu, female Blue-Crowned Conure, Hatched - (approx) June 1, 2014, in a South Florida tree.

Pritti (Cherry-Head Conure) -- Fly in Peace my beautiful boy. Forever I'll love you.
Wow. All I can say is OH BOING!
That must have been scary. Glad you were there. Great tip. Maybe you could get some kind of solid covering for the spot under the boing where your fid likes to play on his back. Like a placemat, or a plastic cutting board with a folded up t-shirt for softness. I always cover at least 1/3 of Pritti's cages with something flat and hard so there is a solid surface area when needed or wanted (I use thick plastic cutting board and a hard wood one too). They are easy to clean.

This is a valid warning and just reinforced that fact that we must always pay attention to our birds at all possible times. Sadly, this could also happen while the bird is locked up inside the cage while we are away.

I'm glad you prevented any further harm!

They are goofs and could get hurt in the most safe environment I swear. Thanks for the warning and bringing up the point:)

And I guess with this said I had a platform perche in for cockatiels that we're older and one managed to get his head caught in It and broke his neak(these perches were cockatiel sized he had managed to wedge it in between somehow)... So always be cautious and watch your birds in this instance it happened while I was gone in the cage sadly:(.
