Today I noticed that Lucy eats very little throughout the day... Never filling her crop.. She does eat but minimal.. But in the morning and evening she fills her crop..All my other birds keep a full crop throughout the day...

Wondering if this is normal or if she prefers to eat in her cage...instead of on her stand in the lanai..

Thoughts opinions..

Rosie only fills her crop in the evening, but she still snacks throughout the day and I can still feel some food in her crop. At night her crop is the biggest.

1 nanday conure Black Jack, 1 Brotogeris parakeet Whiff, 1 ring neck dove Eliza, and 6 society finches (3 are tame). RIP my parent pairs of societies and my little gouldian finches
I think its normal to snack and then fill up later. If her eating habits worry you, a call to the vet for advice never hurts :).

Im really not all that concerned..She isn't losing weight actually up 25grams.(with empty crop). She hasn't plucked a single feather in he last two weeks..... Just wondering if this is common behavior.. My other Birds always have a full crop..

Just wondering if she might be a little uncomfortable eating on the perch in the lanai...

Greenwing a few I'd say half of my macaws do this and then the other half are bigger eaters. My blue throat, bluffons, and one blue and gold do this then the others seem to stay pretty full through out the day. I think it is common and just fine:)
