I have a yellow collared mini macaw that is around 23 years old. By all mannerisms he is desperately searching for a mate. What I would like is to find someone who has a similar situation (either YC or small amazon) and see if there is a match, and would they be interested in having another bird. Any suggestions how to go about this? My other option is putting him into sanctuary but that is my last resort; I'd rather see if I could find a situation for him myself. I did get a second YC (another male) and he tried for 2 weeks to at least make friendly, but the second male was not interested (He is happy to be on his own). Thanks for any suggestions. (I'm in CA)

i guess i don't understand what the issue is. Do you think he's unhappy? Don't want to deal with him trying to mate with you? How long have you had the bird. Is he an xbreeder? really need a bit more history to give good advice.
