Thank you for giving us an opportunity to donate to this foundation. I have been to a talk about parrots by a member of their staff. What is the story of the Macwa?

They rescued 43 Macaws from a home in Pueblo Colorado, all of them in dire need of medical attention. Very quickly they had to create a facility to house them all. The fate of all of them is still not certain. You can go to their website and read the entire article, just be careful, I cry every time I do! I have now made the donation coupon to TGF a permanent thing on Perfectly Parrot, so anytime you can donate and help the foundation you will get a coupon for 20% off your next order.

Garbanzo, a two year old sun conure
The Gabriel Foundation is a wonderful organization! I used to live near Denver and I visited them several times when I first got my sun conure. Even though they are incredibly busy, they always had the time to talk to me. They taught me so much about parrot care! They have their own parrot dietician, who spoke with me on the phone for over an hour, explaining parrot nutrition! All of this, for no charge. They just want to make sure that parrot owners have the right information to take care of their birds.

I once went on vacation and asked if I could board my conure at the Gabriel Foundation. They took great care of her and the owner personally told me all about it when I came to pick her up. They even gave her new toys (for free) while I was gone, to keep her entertained.

I'm usually wary of non-profits I'm not familiar with, because I have unfortunately come across some bad ones. But the Gabriel Foundation is truly a wonderful organization. Their hearts are in the right place and they deserve whatever donations you give!

FYI The Gabrial foundation is mostly for the western states and the Baily foundation is mostly for the eastern states. And, yes they do fantastic work with birds. The foster guardians are at the heart of their care. These people often have up to 20 birds or more in their homes. The guardian I spoke to specializes in rehabbing the large birds and he has every room in his home full of cages including the garage. When I say their are hundreds of birds needing homes I really am sincere.
