I've noticed there are a crazy amount of parrots on here named Loki! Is everyone an Avengers fan? And wished the villain won like me?:D What kind of parrot is your Loki and is he similar to the one I'm sure quite a few of us named our little feathered brats after? Also, if you didn't name it after Avengers Loki why did you choose that name?

I'll start! My Loki is a sun conure who I'm sure is plotting the take over of the house (and beyond) as I type this message. Everyone who meets him is an instant fan so I'm thinking he is going with the take over by fangirls route that the real Loki should have taken:p

I noticed that too. According to info on the internet, Loki is a Norse god, and the word means mischief. I thought it must have been the name of a Disney or Pixar movie character, but I don't think so.

There are several other pet names that you do hear quite often out there.

I've noticed a lot of Lokis are conures!! XP Seems fitting for a trickster god.

The actual god has been one of my favorites for years, but the Marvel character really popularized the name... well, since Tom Hiddleston started playing him. People are CRAZY about Tom Hiddleston!!

The bird names I see the most are
Kiwi
Mango
Sunshine (or some variation of Sun, Sunny, etc)
Lucy
Charlie
Baby

and

Peanut

Though there are several others I'm sure I've seen a million times! When I worked at a vet clinic, there were umpteen dogs named Bailey or Maggie. Pet names trend just the same way human babies names do, I guess!

Oh, that explains it! ;) I was always wondering how and why it became such a popular pet name.

I don't know its so much that everyone loves Hiddleston, its that all the girls love him as Loki :) I still think his legion of fangirls will try to elect him as the next President even tho he is from the UK, not sure that little fact will stop them :)

If Hiddleston in Loki form tried to take over the world, he'd be much more successful then he Loki was in the Avengers!! I ordered Victoria a hooded shirt for Xmas that has 'I am burdened with glorious purpose' on the front and in large bright Loki green letters on the back says 'Kneel to Loki'.

If you're female and don't know Loki, look him up. You know its really bad, when mom (almost 45) and daughter (23) both agree on him!

My YCM is a baby girl named Loki!
Named for the Norse God, and the name suits my little devil quite well.
