Haven't been active much lately, busy with work, falconry exposure, and taking care of Rosie and Kenji. Both of which are doing fantastic! Rosie's been flying better in her harness, in the next few months I'm going to put some telemetry on her and try simple A-B free flight in carefully selected locations. At the moment she's in a excellent routine for harness flying. Not sure how much we'll do, Id like to do it at least once and see how everything goes.

Kenji's doing great, got him out for a walk which was exciting! He's still nervous with hands, I'm no longer sure if he will ever be fully comfortable being on hands. Tragic, but then it's only been a year and we still have many years together.

I've been able to handle a lot of different birds lately, really fun! Mostly I've handled augur buzzards, Harris hawks, aplomado, and American kestrels.

Hope everyone is doing awesome :D

Beautiful pics and videos!:) Thanks for the update. I noticed you haven't been posting lately. Your falconry really sounds interesting and exciting! I have a cousin who was into falconry many years ago when I was a kid.

Good luck with Rosie and the telemetry! I don't know much about it, but thought it was only for raptors. I can't wait to hear more about Rosie's experiences with it :)

Was thinking we hadn't seen you around much, glad things are going well. My parents used to take me to every falconry event going as a youngster - haven't tried it as an adult but it's something I'd like to have a go at. In the meantime the peregrines near work have just started this years clutch, so plenty of wild raptor sightings to keep me occupied!

Thanks everyone :D I'm really interested in using the telemetry with her, without it I would not want to try free flight. I'm very thankful that I know someone with a bunch of telemetry equipment already. The ability to know where a bird has gone is very useful, many story's of parrots being lost is because they went out of site and the human was unable to find them. It's unlikely Rosie would just fly off, but if for any reason she got freaked, or something scares her we can accurately follow her. We're going to use the harness telemetry mount for her, in a few months or whenever she's ready I'll for sure share how she does!

I have no idea why, but seems like somewhere I've heard parrots can't have telemetry equipment on, of course I don't see why not?!
I'd LOVE to hear about Rosie's experiences! :)

It's partially because parrots are very beaky, it's really a question of if the telemetry will actually stay on or not. Rosie is not likely to mess with something on her back, especially since she's used to a harness already. also, for some reason many parrot people have this idea that telemetry is too heavy, or simple not a good idea at all. I don't understand the views and assume it's from being inexperienced with telemetry.

Be responsible and use common sense in life.

One of the reasons why I love this forum is because of Rosie! :) Gotta have my Rosie "fixes" and updates! ;) And of course, Kenji is stunning as well!

Glad to see an update from you guys! :D
