I've been working with Buddy, getting him to come out at least once a day from his mansion. I've been looking for a table top perch and wow they can be pricy. I want natural wood so those are even pricier. My father is retired and loves wood work so I asked him if he can help me make one name he said yes. So I'm wondering what is the best type of wood to look for. I'm in south Texas and I know we have oak, pine, pecan, mesquite, willow, pretty much anything. Is there an optimal type of wood? Buddy is a red crowned amazon and I have natural perches I bought at Petco, no dowels. The largest one he has is about an inch in diameter. Thanks!
