I've had a gcc (Parry) for 3+ mo when I got a lovebird (Coco) and two baby budgies from the same lady. I was keeping the quarantine nicely for about two weeks and then… It was a nice day and I took the lovie and budgies out to the patio in their cages. I first brought back the lovie (she was sitting on the top of her cage), closed the door and went for the budgies. At the moment I was bringing them into their room Parry flew over and landed right next to Coco!:11: I totally forgot he was out of cage (he always is). :) So I had nothing else to do than to introduce them. They sat next to each other for a while, touched their beaks and preened each other a bit. Not a bad start.
At least they had 2 weeks… They are all doing fine so far, so I just hope for the best.

Remember, quarantine isn't foolproof. Best way if you're concerned is to get testing done. If you're not concerned, then it's nice they seem to accept each other :)

I'm not really concerned at this point - it has been over 10 days and they are healthy and active. If there would be a slightest change I go to the vet ASAP of course.

... this honestly just happened to me :52:. I had Shiko out playing with his foot toys while I was on the laptop, and then I look over and he's crawled from there, crawls to Avery's cage, climbs up the couch, and jumps on her cage. All I heard was a loud clang and bam, there's this big blue bird sitting on Avery's cage!

I've had Shiko checked by a vet, and from what she's seen he's perfectly healthy. I'm also doing a blood panel soon, just in case. I actually want to do a blood panel for both, but it's expensive and I don't have $600 to dish out right at this moment. I would imagine that so long as they're both healthy, their feces checks out, they're active, and show no visual ill-behaviour, it should be okay. It really is difficult to do 100% quarantine :(

I always get the viral disease testing since you can't tell from the outside if they're sick. Also being confident you're buying from a place known to not have a history of disease helps. No 100% guarantee as with anything in life! Otherwise, it's practically impossible to FULLY quarantine in our homes.
