Scurvy and Salty the cockatiels, Kiwi and Sprite the budgies, and Mojo the troublemaking Green Cheek.
Shortly after Christmas, before the addition of my newest budgie and before the decision to get a GCC, my BF and I stopped into Petsmart. There was a baby Sun (so we all thought, I'll get to that) that immediately stole my heart. Even the non-bird guy next to me loved this little guy. Unfortunately, we recently relocated cross country and sold our home so are renting a townhome for now so couldn't bring him home. This little guy is wonderful though. Anyway, I/we have been going back, each time expecting the little clown "Peanut" to be sold. I finally began to get very sad that I couldn't give him a home so about 6 weeks ago stopped going in to see him.
Fast forward a few weeks, went back to see him and he was STILL there. The next week I went in, he had a SOLD sign! I was happy he was getting out of there, but sad my little buddy would be gone. Through all of this, one of the store employees knew how much I loved him, and had let me handle him from time to time. He was smart, willing to step up, doing tricks after just a minute or two.
Anyway, we had talked about it, and my BF gave his blessing for me to let the employee know if for any reason the new owners didn't want him, we would find a way to make it work, and to contact me. We didn't want our buddy having been there for so long shoved away because he took longer to adapt to his new home.
So today, here's the happy ending. Turns out he had been purchased by a woman with a GCC who knew little about Suns. The employee who helped me took her in to meet her new companion, and he refused to step up or let her touch him! The woman left to return the next day to pick him up, and the store manager went in to assist the customer herself. The manager thought the bird was picking up on (the employee who helped me) her emotions of not wanting him to leave. NOPE! He just did not like the new owner. So....the customer took him home, and returned him two days later!!! Saying he was aggressive and loud. Soooooo, the employee bought him!! She loved him as much as I do, and came to tell me today that when he was returned, was shaking and scared, until he saw her! She told me all about him settling in, his cage, and how much her family loves him.
Not only does he have a good home, she told me anytime I want updates she will be happy to share, and, if for any reason she has to rehome him, she knows who to go to.

Side note, turns out he is likely a Sunday, his hatch date was June 1st last year, not Oct/Nov as we both thought. He has had a full molt and still has his green wings.

That's awesome! Glad it turned out well and that he/she is in a home that will appreciate him.
