not just the regular groom streak, run the feather through my beak, kind of thing. though i havent actually seen her chew her feathers either.

but,
her tail feathers look chewed, shorter, kind of frayed.. not the whole feather, as in not up the cord, just the , feather hairs? attatched to the big feather vein.

is this boredom? stress maybe?

i constantly have their home door open, so they can go freely from the cage to the bedroom. they like to set on my bamboo curtains where they have chewed a perch/outside viewing area, and scream at anything that walks by.

they have toys hanging on the curtains and in they're cage, there is two birds, so she has company when im gone.
we dont use scented things,
all organic type stuff around them, iron skillets, the wrks.. bird safety conscious living.

anyone have experience/advice on this?

Are their wings clipped? Sometimes birds with clipped wings get raggedy tail feathers from walking/dragging the tail to much or from trying to fly and landing on their tail feathers instead of their feet becase they can't land properly. Some birds also just get ragged tail feathers from climbing around and playing becase the tail feathers tend to be dragged over things.
