Hi everyone!
I was just wondering, what are your favorite bird products and resources? For example I love the Aviator Harness, and read everything I can by Dr. Steve Hartman. I know there are a lot of really cool products out there that some of us love to use on a day to day basis.

I love our Celleti bird backpack (so does Kiwi), Booda brand rope perches (they hold up great!) and of course the ever-helpful paint scraper-turned-poop scraper:)

Bundii loves Kirsty's Natural bird toys. They always are a big favourite as soon as they go in the cage. We also love using organic coconut oil to prevent poop sticking to the cage grate. Saves so much on cleaning time.

Thats a great idea! It's so hard to get poop off the grate and seed guards (and you have to be careful with the scraper not to chip the paint). I wonder if you can use other types of oil (maybe almond oil?). I'm allergic to coconut if I eat it (break out in hives and my face swells up) and don't care to find out if I have a skin reaction if I touch it:52:

I'm impressed with Bird Street Bistro and Higgin's Mayan Harvest. I order from both companies on a regular basis.

Of course, I'll be the first to say, My Safe Bird Store is just the best. Terry57 sent my birds a care package from them, we set it on the table in the bird room. All the birds got new toys. Popeye had so much fun, he couldn't stop. After he was back in his cage with his new toys, he insisted on having his neighbor's toys too.

Dani, great thread:)

I love toys made by a company called Parroteelia, who is based here in Canada. The birds absolutely love them.

@Allee, what a hysterically funny picture of Popeye!

Alee- Cute pic of Popeye! Alfie the goffin sticks his little leg out like that too! He's got a tad bit thin feathers on the inside of his dominant leg from doing it so often (he likes when sheddable things are placed on top of his cage so he can pull them through the bars) Wonder if it's a cockatoo thing?

I think it probably is a cockatoo thing. Popeye loves pulling things through the bars from inside or outside his cage. He has custom locks on his feed doors because he uses his feet so well. Do you have photos of Alfie to share?

Not of him sticking his foot out:( He's always been strictly my dads bird, so theres not a whole lot of photos of him floating around... He is a houdini though.

Him and Kiwi looking at each other at a BBQ a few years ago (in their travel cages of course:)):

I am sure you can. Bundii does not spend any time on the bottom of her cage and I have used vegetable oil when I had no coconut oil. The poop just glides off. I only use a small amount and wipe it over with a piece of kitchen towel.

Thanks Amanda, Popeye loves his toys, now that he knows what they're for. :)
I have used light safflower cooking oil to remove poop. A few drops of grape seed extract in hot water works great too. You can order GSE from The Laughing Parrot.

April thanks for posting those adorable photos. We do need to start a naughty cockatoo thread. Back to the topic of Dani's thread, I would love to order a travel case like Kiwi's, "Pimp My Ride," but I know Popeye, he would take it apart and hand the pieces to me. :)

The backpack is awesome, but as much as the company may want to promote it as "bird proof", it's honestly only suitable for a bird who is not normally very destructive:( You could put Popeye in a small travel cage, strap it in a stroller and take him out that way (if you don't mind looking a little silly:)).
