Thursday and all chicks still in nest. I just saw Mom there with her three babies. She brought a bird for dinner. Hard to watch them eat the bird though. One of the chicks is flying and coming back to the nest. Two have not fledged yet.

The babies have grown up to be so pretty, haven't they? Gorgeous coloration.

Red Tailed Hawks have beautiful markings. We have falcons on our downtown buildings in Baltimore. I wonder if the city hatched rafters will ever see the woods?

We live on the edge of town and there are still lots of agricultural areas around us...we see lots of red-tailed hawks all the time. We have bird feeders in our yard and a relatively large escaped ring-neck dove population. So we do have one hawk who often "dines" in our backyard.
