Hi all

So me and my wife had a little ride to the local pet shop today to see if they had any new parrots so we could say hello

WELL! what an amazing day!! we ended up staying there for 2 hours playing with the cutest Macaw! OMG!

my wives very new to the whole bird as a pet idea. before i got Marley she was scared of birds LOL i didn't tell her until he was home in her living room :/

The Macaw and her fell in love and i got the cutest pics i just had to share with you all if i had the cash he would be at home with us but he's a little out our price range

Looks like she has been chosen! That's a very special thing! If I were you I would ask if you could put a deposit down on him or make payments or something.

ah i wish that was possible in dubai but being such a rich country people (arabs) come in and buy these birds on a daily basis its such a big business..

BUT i haven't asked so thats what il be doing tomorrow

Good job - it never hurts to ask. Often you find that when they see one that obviously chooses a human they are willing to make some adjustments in how they do business...well in America at least.

BTW - your wife is beautiful and the bird is stunning...or visa versa.

If your hearts are set on that beautiful B&G it would be appropriate to attempt a negotiation. Hard to know whether that will prove successful, but your enthusiasm and a culture that is stereotypically believed to relish bargaining may be successful.

Is Dubia a permanent place or temporary, like a contract job? Your wife made a connection but like you said, it's a rich country.

Oh my goodness, what a sweetie! I'm so jealous. I'd love to have a giant bird store to visit and play with sweet babies like that.

I have a business here in dubai and plan to stay here quite a long while

I'm so sorry things aren't working out. I had an opportunity to get another bird whose reaction and connection to me was great but I was too late getting back to the store. I wish it were different. Such connections with these beautiful birds are hard to find.

i agree my wife is heartbroken i think we will lay off the pet store visits until i have some money lol!

I've found a large pet store where they can do finance on birds with a 20% down payment but only for special customers which id imagine it means if we show we are bird lovers and not just trophy collectors! so will be visiting that shop soon but for now i need to get Marley settled he is being a little naughty at the moment i think its hormonal as its like mood swings lol
