Even though I have a large flock, I'm thinking of getting more birds. I'm sticking strictly to fowl because they are so low-maintenance. The pen I bought for my quail is a double-decker pen, so the bottom has room for more birds. I'm thinking about maybe adding some bobwhites and some chinese painted quail. It's going to be so much fun choosing.

Well, for the most part, the quail are extremely manageable little birds. They don't really ask much of you, just space to run, shelter, fresh food and water...

I'm not helping, am I. :D

Not really, lol! Now I really want some!!! But my folks would say no

I bet you could easily convince your parents to allow you to get a chinese painted quail. ;)

Those guys require even less space than what my quail do. They're tiny; about an inch long when first born. They don't really change much in size when they're adults, either. How could someone resist an inch-tall baby bird?
