Baxter - Illiger's Macaw (hatch date 5.1.15);

Taylor - Black capped Conure (RIP 3.14.15 - miss you every day little "Girlie")
I often travel via car to visit family. Trips take 4-6 hours in general. For those of you who take your birds on long car trips, what is your favorite travel cage/carrier?

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Even on long trips I don't use one. [We moved 1850 miles with five birds.]

Mine don't even like the wall unit sized cage doors closed. spending that much time in an itty bitty carrier?! Ummm.... not gonna work.

I used birdie car seats and/or my shoulder, and/or the car head rest. (Lila's favorite perch.)

I use small plastic dog/cat crates and I wedge them between the front and back seats so that they don't move. If the space is to big to wedge them in, I add a towel or blanket to fill the gap. Safety first.
