My last pet continues to be a dog. No I did not adopt a bird. At this point in my life (and at my age, I don't know if there will be anymore points) I have too many pressing needs. All I can do is deal with the needs of my wife and myself.
I do enjoy reading, and getting vicarioius enjoyment reading the many warm hearted posts in this forum.
