One of my coworkers found this online... apparently someone local is following "the bird guy." And taking photos when I go out, and posting them.... So I guess that makes me a local internet oddity... and apparently I'm the new "Where's Waldo."

I had gone out that night to pick up some wrapping paper and you know who wanted to come...

Wow Mark, that must be a strange feeling to find a pic of yourself on the internet. You and Maggie are local celebrities! Don't punch out the paparazzi .

Well, oddly enough, one of my co workers found it, and emailed it to me.

Not really sure what to think on this one...

Knowing what we know about our birds, the training, effort and attention it takes to have our birds like that, and the special relationship we have with them .....then to that photo I would say....wow, what a compliment! Anyone can be a dog guy, but it takes a special person to be the bird guy! I absolutely love to be the bird lady, even though many will never understand how special that is.

I can imagine you might feel a little (a lot) awkward about finding you photo online!

But as stated before, it a nice picture 😊
Also, I think you set an awesome example of how well behaved parrots can be and how much freedom you can give them with the right training etc.

You showed all the random internetpeople that came across your picture that THIS is how a parrot should and can be kept!

It is not so nice though that it was without your consent.

I would definately try to strike up a conversation with the guy papparazzing you. Chances are he's just really curious?

Take a dog out in public and everyone applauds you for being a good dog owner. Take a bird out in public and people stare at you, give you dirty looks, ask stupid questions (and apparently also stalk and take pictures of you!). As birds are the 3rd most popular type of pet in this country, this kind of thing *really* shouldn't be so rare to see that someone stalks the guy with the bird!

At least it's a nice picture of you and Maggie:) I'm sure she could hold her own against the stalker if need be;)

You've graduated to paparazzi status?!? Hahaha!

Cool pic, Mark. But just how many pics of you were there? Depending on the answer, this could qualify as disturbingly creepy.

Apparently there were three or four, various dates.

This is someone who apparently lives near me, and takes pictures, and posts them every time she see's me out with one of the birds.

I only heard about it. Someone else found it online.

Lol! It's the same person who took several pics of you and your birds on different occasions and they know it's a woman?! That's funny! She hides in the bushes ...

No need to hide in the bushes. I am rarely without bird...

One of my co-worker's friends knows her apparently. It's a friend, of a friend, of a friend...

Alexandrine Ringneck,
about to be getting a Jardine's
You'd be surprised how often people take pics with their phones and post it online. I took my bird for a walk in his bird pak through campus and within an hour I was trending on Twitter and Snapchat. I had people search me out to take a selfie. The fact that they could track my location through people posting about seeing me was both cool and terrifying.

Yeah, that's more the dynamic here... it's apparently the way late teen/early twenty somethings entertain themselves these days.

I'm a fifty something. I just don't get it...

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
That's a great pic, but potentially a bit creepy given the mores of our time. Chances are she's an innocent admirer, but would be nice to know if she makes a habit of similar voyeurism with other folks.
