Yellow Shoulder Amazon, Salty
Salty has been getting fresh vegetables everyday and fruit too. but just cut up into pieces. Today is the first day that I used the food processor to make chop. What went into it? Turnip greens, kale, bok choy, just the green part, red, yellow and green peppers and oh 6 or 7 jalapeño peppers, and carrots. Made enough for 18 days. Salty seems to like it so far. It is really hot though, I tried some. We froze 9 baggies and each baggie has 2 in it. The wife says that it will make good veggie base for soups or stews, if he turns out to not like it.
What else is good for this? Nothing too crazy please , limited choices at the local store, so no Egyptian rabbit fronds and the like.

I add beans and grains (barley, quinoa or wild rice) to my veggie chop as well. You could also try adding red cabbage or radishes, with either of those a little goes a long way, so I put some aside when I'm buying it for the family.

That would be awesome to see! Lol much like getting nutrients into a toddler!

I sometimes add a few crunched almonds and some home dried fruit for texture :)

I see dandelion greens on sites, is that just regular dandelion leaves? I got LOTS of those in the summer.

I just harvested some dandelion flowers and leaves yesterday to make a new chop. Also harvested some purple deadnettle for a separate batch of chop.

For simple inspiration look to your frozen vegetable aisle. That's how I started. I work a 9-5, so can't have super wet mixes (which means no fruits!) during the day. Many frozen veggies are fine to stay out all day without spoilage. These would make a good start for any chop.

Right now, we tried table spoon a day, and he does not go thru that. And tends to eat the yellow and red peppers.

Yeah? Cool, but I can just imagine the mess he is going to make with those. The juice really stains quickly.
