I bought these a few months ago for my daughter and because all of my hair ties get chewed and pop right out of my hair  , I started stealing hers. What I have found is.... they cannot chew through them. I hope I am not jinxing it now! But, they have not chewed through one yet! Granted, I have a IRN and Senegal. Larger parrots may be different. I thought I would share, they are cheap (compared to the normal ones) I paid $12.95 for 100 of them on amazon and they survive parrot chewing! (at least my smaller parrot chewing) [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Kenz-Laurenz-Elastics-Ponytail-Holder/dp/B018T34DBQ?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage]Amazon.com : Kenz Laurenz Elastics Ponytail Holder (100 Hair Ties - Solids) : Beauty[/ame]

These are amazing. They are stretchy and do not slip out, they work just as well as the ones they bite through in seconds! .... and they are cheap and pretty :D They sell all black ones too.
