Well as the title says I'm totally amazed

I just rang the one vet that I know is a spe******t in birds

They are the only vets within the whole of nz that does birds
yes that's right 3.8 million people and 1 spe******ed bird vet

I live an hour from this vet thankgod but my mum who lives half way down the north island is a 5hr drive to my house
I would hate to think what would happen to a bird in need if a vet from there or any other location within nz that is over an hour away
those poor birds don't stand a chance

Not only that but they are also the only place within nz that sells any pelleted food
thankfully that's harrisons and they will courier it thru out the country but unless you know about this vet you would not know about this food and not alot of people know about this vet

What's mire it costs $19 for a 450g bag
that's approx $27us
yeah it has to be imported but bloody hell no wonder no one stocks it

So that's my rant and rave sorry I'm just shocked at the ignorance of my fellow kiwis and feel sorry for the birds that have owners who are none the wiser

Ps : just incase anyone else from nz reads this post
it is lynfield vets and I hope if your not already that thru this forum you will become more aware of the needs of our birds and will help to spread that word to more

That REALLY sucks! But hey at least there is 1, another member was on here with an AG and there were no vets and it seems like the poor bird did not make it.:( Sharon also do not have any vets available. I pray that the future will look different and that more people will become avian vets.

The price for the food is more or less the same as what we pay for the food that we get at the vets. There is of course much cheaper brands around.

That specialized word turns up like that in every bodies post, I think it is the background program that sees it as a swearword by accident.
