i have a bird that is flying into walls. he needs his wings clipped. although does he need shots too before hand?

Birds (any birds, not just parrots) do not require vaccines like dogs and cats, though he may need his nails trimmed if they're overgrown.
What type of parrot is he?

Mine have never had any vaccines, although the vet did give them both a Vitamin A booster shot on one visit. And yea like CD asked, what type of bird? lol

Also, a bird can learn to not fly into walls. If thats the only reason for clipping, give it a bit more though as living with a flighted bird can be so much fun

(i'm sure you have other reasons and I am in no way against clipping, but its not something to be rushed into

)

I put a couple of branches accross each window
a: it helps stop them flying into them and
b: if they do fly at them they are more likely to land in the branch than crash into the actual window
it's just an idea if you do want to keep your bird flighted

I guess its all in who you ask about Avian Vaccination, there is a great deal of controversy on the subject, but from what I've read over the years it seems that there is an overwhelming majority that believe it is both unnecessary and ineffective, I'm by no means an expert and have to rely on what I've been advised by both of my own Avian Veterinarian's...... as far as clipping goes, I won't comment as that is a personal decision that one must make for their own situation and it usually sparks heated discussion every time its brought up

Vaccinations not recommended by my avian vet either
Have two conures..one clipped
..one not ...both happy.
