It's going to be a noisy morning around here. Our vet appointment got moved up to today instead of tomorrow. I'm going with the rescue I work with down to see Dr. Scott. We're taking quite a few birds. I decided to take chicken with along with Tiki and Pumpkin. Figure having her seen again doesn't hurt if we're going anyway.

Since Dr. Scott puts them under for part of the exam, they can't have any food or water after 8 this morning, so no breakfast. They are not happy campers. Hopefully all goes well, and everyone gets a clean bill of health.

I'm guessing that Dr. Scott is putting them 'under' as a means of rapid examination and thus eliminates the need for toweling? With the volume of Parrots that he sees in any given session, its understandable, but!

I'm not sure what the Parrot community that he supports (and its large) is going to do when he stops his lengthy travels. He is the last of the traveling Vets and now a breed unto himself.

Wish him well, he is a rare jewel.

Kinda surprised he puts em "under". I have never taken that risk with any of my birds. Maybe the risk is overblown but I was always given the impression.. even by pro vets that there is a fair chance they wont wake up. Hope all goes well. As far as your blind bird... did some study last nite and its "cortical" blindness that can be pretty easily treated with a darn good chance sight is restored. Figure you might run that question by the doc. Fingers crossed for yall
