AHHHHH!

Went on Craig's list to see if I could find some parrot/baby toys, there is NEVER really birds on there so it's normally a safe bet to not get my mind going....

2 CAG with cage etc for 500$

And I know it's not a scam, I googled the phone number and it's a local business owner.

CAGs are my dream birds.... I just keep saying "we don't have the room we don't have the room we don't have the room" but then I start looking and it's going "well we can move that there and toss that and move that to the garage...." Then I go back to "we don't have the room we don't have the room" then I look at the ad again hoping it's been taken down but it's still there....

Dear god I need help >_< LOL

OMG you have it bad. Looking forward to pics LOL

I'm hoping when my husband gets home from work he says no... If he says yes I may die dead right there considering we just spent 470$ on the setup for the cockatiel we just rescued!! LOL.

I'm doing the "maybe I should call and get more information..."

Someone needs to stop me!!! Lol :p

Put down the phone!!!

Walk slowly to the kitchen and get a larger glass of water, adding lots of ice. Now walk slowly to the bathroom and into the bath tub or shower. Pour the large glass of water over your head. This will likely not work, but it will give hubby a little time to get home and ask; What are you crazy or something! At that point you can tell him about the birds.

Think about it in terms of time instead of money; that's what I have to do. Of course I just came home with 2 new ringies so I'm not allowed to talk ;)

I would meet them. Could be they are the wrong CAGs for you.

I saw an add something like that, don't remember where/ what publication.
Phone number was a 310 area code (Los angels) and local to me, I figured what the heck.
It was a complete scam and I had a hard time getting rid of the low life that I contacted.
Just remember, If it looks to good to be true it probably is.

Yea lesson learned do not go on Craigslist. Ever again... Until we get moved.... But I mean all we would have to do is get the permits to bring them across the border.... AHHHHHH -_- the money isn't so muh of an issue. Especially since my husband gets paid in two days...

All I can think is "why does my kid choose today of all days to not get into thins to keep me busy! No he's sitting and playing nicely so I don't even have a distraction!! Lol

I once called on a macaw in hopes it might be the one that was sold before we could rescue it along with the other Hawaiian blue and golds we were rescuing. It was a scam and yes, the guy was very hard to get rid of!

Youch! This is why I try and steer clear of Craigslist! It's a very DANGEROUS place for bird lovers!

See normally I would say scam BUT a quick google bring sup all the guys home and business information, his company makes almost a million a year so he really wouldn't have the need for money in order to scam people ( the business name is also really familliar I'm thinking he was one of the contractors my friends family had out to do an estimate for their trout pond) so he requires a good name in order to get business, and scamming people is a great way for his business to go under.

I also searched the number on a couple different websites (one for business one for private) and they both are linked to his business AND home address (he also has a really nice house, about three blocks from our old appartment LOL)

Maybe everyone in this situation needs a rescue. You get your dream bird, the owner finds someone who will love them, and the birds get a home where they get better care.

Last week there was a military macaw on CL for $300. It was legit. I was just one person too late.

We have an ad for a free CAG on Craigslist that comes around every few months. My whole family goes bonkers thinking it's true. In our case in never has been. Doesn't matter because I can't afford more vets, if he were malnourished or I had to travel for vet care.

I am being very naughty here but you could go meet them. If they like you then there will be a way to bring them home and if they are not fussed you are able to put them out of your mind as not right birds/right time?

Greys are the birds I've always been owned by (and a green cheek that I just adored). I've rescued many. They need a lot of time and socialization, but they're so smart that a persistent and loving human can overcome. But, you may suffer several nasty bites along the way.

Thankfully I was always able to avoid a bad bite, the "minor" bites were enough to make me learn their body language real fast!

But...I digress...we will definitely need pics!
