A few months ago I traveled 4 1/2 hours out to adopt a B&G that the owner could no longer keep. The guy said he purchased the bird from a flea market a couple years prior but that he was around 8 years old. This sparked my interest and I wanted to know more about his past, especially since he's been through at least two owners before me. Is there any way I can look up the letters and numbers on his leg band? What information would I be able to dig up and where would I do the searching?

Welcome. Glad you found us. While you're waiting for replies, you might use the SEARCH tab to see if there's background available.
I was able to use my bird's band info 30+ years ago by reaching out to a state avicultural/breeders' association. Not sure what resources are available nowadays...

Bwa FL 114 is what the band has on it as far as I can tell. He's not too fond of me dragging his foot out.

I googled around a bit and found BWA may be "Broken Wings Aviary" which may now be called "Wings Aviary" because the email was the same. They're also located in Florida (the FL part of the band).
