I've ran into a problem, today when I've opened the cage he left it after few hours and now whole day he's sitting in kitchen on top of the locker(i have no idea the right english word for that), i know it's about time for him to eat but i can't get him back to cage he just flies away when he even see me approaching...Problem is he doesn't trust me so much, and i have no idea what to do now, since now its either he'll go back by himself(which i doubt), he'll die of hunger, or to aggressively catch him with something...any help?

If you have been keeping his cage in your room, I would try to get him back into there. If he understands stepping up, he may be willing to step up on a stick/pole.
He won't starve himself! With him to one room, he should go back to his cage for water and food. Time for some special treats? Please make sure no one opens a door to outside!

This is why I suggested keeping him to one room only!

Definitely a good idea to start a new thread!

Well he is in the same room whole day, just the living room is kinda connected to small kitchen so he's like 2m away from his cage, he's been without food/water for for like 8 hrs so far and I'm worried a bit, tried offering him some food from my hand but he just flew around the ceiling and then got back to the locker, and sitting there for like 6-7 hrs, when ever i come close to him he just flies away and after few moments return there so there's like 0 chance that the step up gonna happen...

Try offering a dish of food and if he is hungry he may climb onto the dish for you to gently bring him down. Just offer it to him quietly.

The only way I get the Rickeybird back in is to toss his favorite treat in there... a hot green chile... and he steaks back in. I hope he never stops or else we'll be in for a horr8ble battle. Good luck.

I wouldnt worry about him starving himself but if he does not seem to understand how to get back to his cage, maybe bring the cage out where he can physically see it or bring the food and water out somewhere that would be comfortable for him to land and eat/drink, ie not the floor, somewhere where he can perch and not feel vulnerable, or just put it up on the cabinet where he is. Definitely only let him out in a room with a door thats closed so he cant fly throughout the whole place until he is comfortable with you.

Ye i'll need a lot of it since this battle is lasting for a long time and i'm becoming a bit tired, problem is he won't even go to other location to eat, he's only eating if its in front of him on the spot he is in which is unfair..

Now he has seen the food and would quite like some if you can get his cage close by he may just go in himself if he can see the food in there?

I've maid a road with sunflower seeds to the cage and he walked to it eating the seeds, then when he came to cage he tried takin some of those from the bowl through the fence but he couldn't do it so he came in and shut the door by himself with the tail. Battle is over. Human won. haha :D

Well, at some point when i was getting a bit angry i even wanted to open the window and just let him go, if that's his wish, I'm thinking of maybe trading him for a cocktail or something since he'd have way better life with other birds since he's more of an aviary then home bird, but dunno what to do.

Hi, please don't do that. Did you know that parrots pick up on your emotions?

Now start at the beginning and please tell us your parrots story, how you got to take him home? We will do our best to help you, BUT you need to want to receive help! OK?

I am sure you did feel like a drink during and after this but I am assuming you meant a Cockatiel parakeet? :)

No idea why did i write cocktail...Probably because it was in the morning so i wrote like machine without even watching..Well I've got him from some guy he had dozens of birds, but this one caught my eyes so i took him, and after like 2 weeks we're really on nothing. I come closer he just moves away. No matter how hard i try to make him happy it's not working, bought him a swing he doesn't even go near it, got him some toys they are just collecting dust in the corner, tried offering him some food by myself he's just like back off...Dunno from where to start.

Ok, cheer up all is not lost LOL. Firstly it is great you came here, for help with Koki.

Have you read the link and looked through the linked section of the forum relating to 'Training'?

Koki needs to trust you, her surroundings, her cage and what is in it. That is why she flew to a high point, it's her instincts telling her to do this to be safe. So no pressure but just sit fairly close-by and talk to her/read to her, whilst she is in her cage. Give the chance to make up her mind about you. Do nothing in her cage other than a quick clean and replace food and water for a few weeks. This will also help. Hopefully after a bit she will be less scared and will want to come to edge of her cage to be given the odd treat. You will need patience with her, so please no more getting angry OK. If you are fed up come and tell us about it instead, deal?
