If I take a new job, re-arranging my birds schedule

I currently have a good job but I've had two other offers or at least inquries for me to come work for them.

Currently I work split Night schedule so it's 12hours 6pm-6am MT the WT off the FSS on... then MT off WT on and FSS three day weekend off. As such my birds night time is like 5-6pm and he sleeps till I get home in the morning, or I'm already home all night and day etc. On the days I work he's very quiet and lets me sleep 5-6 hours after we play for 4-5 hours in the morning.

Both the new jobs would be basically M-F morning to afternoon 8 hour shifts. So basically I'd be re-arranging his schedule as much as my own. He'd still have a bit in the morning, but all the play time would be in the evening now.

Honestly, I am making this a major factor of making a job switch. My bird has been on this schedule for like one and a half years now. And I'm wondering how long it would take him to adjust and if his quality of life would be affected.

Any advice from anyone that had to turn their bird's schedule upside down like this?

There will definitely be an adjustment period, and there really is no saying how your bird will take the new change in schedule. I work the same scheduel you would be going to, M-F 8-5 and my birds are fine with this schedule, but I have two of them and they keep each other company during the day.

The only thing you can do is try to make this adjustment as easy as possible, and so during this time you'll want to spend as much time as you can with your bird. Weekends will be your new days to spend lots of time with your bird, and remember that there may be some behavioral changes at first, but if you continue to work with your bird and spend lots of time with them on weekends and after work then the transition should be fine.

Suspect it is probably going to hit any socialising you like to do?

Why not sit and write down the times each day you spend with them and what you expect to happen on the new times? (actual time and not just in the house or sleeping). May make it easier to decide? Congrats on the offers btw.
