5 Things to prepare before getting a parrot!

These are the 5 things we think is important to consider before bringing a new feathered baby home. I know I've missed a few things, please feel free to comment and add! Definitely need to update the video later, but these are some of the things I felt were important after helping out some of new parronts in our area

Good information! I watched this earlier today. Still need to address my first aid kit. I did buy 2 containers of styptic powder when it was recently on sale. I guessed that if it was needed, each one wouldn't go that far.

nice!

I'd say insurance would be a great thing to mention. The amount I see of people having no money left because their bird got a minor infection. For the cost of insurance each month it's brilliant having that safety net around, some will pay thousands on treatments for your bird for practically nothing

That's a great idea. I should really get insurance. Heck, bigger birds cost as much to buy as some horses and the smaller costs eventually rack up, but VET BILLS... there's nothing like them when one of your animals gets really sick!

it's so worth having IMO over here there's only the one insurer but they're amazing. Their standard care is the equivalent of $20 a month for a smaller parrot and that covers all of their standard appointments with their registered vet and covers up to what would be $2500 of any other vet bills a year. It's crazy how good it is

It's great that you obtained some styptic powder. There are so many parrot owners who panic when their birds are bleeding. Having styptic powder provides a lot of piece of mind in these situations.
