Re: Aviary Life

Iím home, at least for now. I was in for 8 days, now Iím able to be home on ďprincess dutyĒ as in Iím allowed out of bed but not much else.

Sorry for the confusion, I have not had seizures YET, but I have preeclampsia again. It came on extremely quickly; thank God we were keeping such a close eye after my last pregnancy!

My sister Ellene is here, the one that lived with us in Hawaii. Not only is she doing all my work (seriously all of it) but sheís a bird person through and through and is spoiling my flock AND my child and fur babies.

In fact, given Flickís recent tragedy, Iím even more glad Ellene is here. Flick seems to be taking great comfort in having her bestie here.

Here is my sister chilling with Tsali and Alpha and Omega, our foster tiels.

Congratulations! Pretty girl was in a hurry to get here. Pray you are both safe, and well cared for.

Re: Aviary Life

Welcome to the world, Claralena Valor!

She looks healthy and content, time for her mommy to unwind and take a well earned rest and victory lap! You have been through so much, Dani!

Re: Aviary Life

I wish it were time for that!

So c-sections are a fresh Hell. Fun fact; you can feel the whole thing. They say ďyou will feel pressureĒ but they MEAN you will feel everything they do, it just wonít hurt while they do it. It does after though.

Clara still canít eat on her own, or even with a feeding tube until her blood sugar issues straighten out. She also cannot breath well on her own and requires a cpap machine for breathing.

Because of the sugar issues she basically has a giant IV in her navel which is whatís preventing safe snuggles. I was allowed to hold her once today and my husband hopes to be allowed to hold her once tomorrow. Being a mother unable to hold her baby is horrible and I just donít have the energy to pretend otherwise. I also canít hold my other child because he is a 2 year old boy who flails and I have a giant incision.

My sister has been a Godsend as you know but has to leave earlier than intended.

Iím a mess of happy, sad, scared, relieved, excited, terrified, exhausted, bitter, loving; and everything hurts. But my daughter is here and safe, even though she has a long road ahead.
