So I have two Cockatiels and am pretty sure (was told by the breeder) both are male. The thing is that my grey pastel has under-tail markings making me skeptical. However, he/she is verrry vocal. In fact he is more vocal than the other. I have been trying to observe traits but nothing seems to be surfacing. Oscar is the one referred to here.

How old are they?

Most juveniles will take on coloring of a female, with barring of the tail, so if they are young and haven't had their first molts then they could still be male and have tail markings. Only after their first few molts will it be easier.

With Lutinos its a bit harder. But typically they will all appear light/not much yellow as juveniles and the males will gain a lot of yellow coloring around the face, while females will typically keep yellow around the beak area.

If they are young (a few months old), they could definitely be males. My male is very vocal.
