I've been thinking about how much I let clark get away with, and what I give him in treats and bending to his wants and desires etc.

I'm sure someone will top us all with their indulgences... but how do you spoil your bird, things you just can't say no to, and go above and beyond.... like you spent $$$$$ on a ????????? for you parrot because.....

Time to fess up and admit how much you love your owner......

For me so far I've kept everything sort of rational, conure t shirts, play stand, several toys a month, not much say $25 a month....also anything I eat he has dibs.

I want to hear how you leave me in the dust.... :)

I spent Christmas day making the last 10 toys so everyone had a new toy for Christmas. The things we do!

The Rickeybird, 38-year-old Patagonian Conure
Oh, BROTHER! Okay, here's my ticket into the Hall of Shame...
I pretty much give the Rickeybird anything he wants, anytime, anywhere. I allow him to terrorize the house and anybody in it. I don't touch or get near my loving husband when the bird is watching. I have spent enough money on the bird in 30+ years to have bought a really nice car. I look great in (and love) short/fluffy haircuts, but must keep a shoulder length cut to protect my ears. I endure ruinous home entertainment attempts due to a screaming banshee in the back room. I could go on, but by now, most of you are familiar with you-know-who anyway.

*sigh*

Rickeybird does many important things around the house you know....he flies around clearing um cobwebs, he gives you exercise, he eats your extra bird food. fair trade off.

Since they were for birds of all different sizes, a mix of everything. The larger birds got wood, vine balls, cardboard, the small guys got mostly paper and cardboard and beads:)

I just bought a new swing for clark on amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0755FD6RZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 $8.99

I know some amazon owner bought a 1,200 dollar play stand....lets see how the other half lives.... tell us how you spoil your owner.

To terry I'm thinking about basic soda can boxes for clark to climb inside and tear up.....saw similar on youtube, I'm sure he'd like it if he'd separate from me.

My too loves boxes! For his and my Ekkie's present we bought new pizza boxes and attached wood, etc., inside and out. They loved it!

My budgies have that swing and love it:)

Ugh... Let's see where do I even begin:rolleyes:

Our spoilt rotten avian overlord has been "free range" for years because he figured out how to take his cage door off and resistance became a futile effort:34: While looking to buy a home (condo), we couldn't even consider a couple places because he wasn't allowed to live there. His crap (cage, play stand, swing etc...) takes up around 20% of our small living room and if he isn't invited to eat at the table with us he shows his offense via loud jungle calls. In the spirit of "sharing is caring" we eat incredibly healthy and never eat junk food in front of him. He has more toys than I did as a kid. I haven't showered alone in years and he likes to wolf whistle and shout "hello" at me WHILE I shower:52: His royal featherbuttness doesn't eat bird food, he eats healthy human grade food, all home-made just for him with him mommy cursing the little green demon as she attempts a variety of difficult and tedious preparation methods for his "discerning palate". Yet I adore the crap out of him still, somehow. Guess I'm a big sucker:D:green:

Ollie has a $1000 java tree stand in the living room, a $800 tree stand in my husband's office, a 2nd play stand in the living room that's easier to get his food dipped in his water (it's covered in toys), a play stand in the bathroom, a giant cage in the kitchen and a sleep cage in his own bedroom. I wake him up from 8am to 9am every morning and give him his morning "seeds time" which is pellets mixed with a little seeds for breakfast, then cuddles for a least an hour and then if I'm home I carry him from room to room with me and never leave him in a different room or his cage if I'm home. Why? Because why wouldn't I want him to be with me...it doesn't even occur to me that I should leave him behind. Then at around noon Ollie gets an apple or some other fruit or veggie and by then he on his big cage demanding his lunch! After that he and I just hang out and I take him where he wants to go because he's clipped now after a scary incident on Christmas day where he nearly flew into a frozen pond. To make up for clipping him I pay attention to him and try to take him the direction he's bending his neck at and he usually seems happy about it. At around 3pm we have a shower...Ollie had his own little hand shower that gently sprays him while I'm showering and has a shower with me daily. At 6pm he gets a tiny bit more seeds (he munches pellets all day) and will let me know it's time! Then the rest of the night we hang out and he plays with toys while sitting on me or on his stand(s). At 8pm he happily squawks it's night nights time and he goes to bed. Let's see what else ..
He has about a hundred toys and I often go to the pet stores and but $100 of toys about once a month.
I go to the city for dinner 1 to 2 times a week and on those nights I specifically have my maid/babysitter come and put him to bed and if I'm not home give him his 6pm seeds.
Ollie has three Pack'O'Birds (all different versions and one is specifically for plane travel) and one travel cage that packs into a bag that you can check as luggage on a plane. He travels with us as often as possible.
I often take him to my favorite Italian bakery for lunch where he has bread and eggs and everyone swoons over him.
We got him his own Christmas decorations for his other play stand in the living room this year.
When we stay in a hotel with Ollie make sure we get a suite with an extra bathroom or a big closet so he can get his dark undisturbed 12 of sleep.
Yes my husband and I are insane and no we don't care because we're insane over this amazing birdie! Ollie is life. Will attach pics later if anyone is interested.

Can't say I spoil Skittles. I pamper him.

He is kept in line with limits and redirection. Aside from that, he gets everything he needs and just about everything he wants (provided its safe for him).

I don't consider it spoiling by not going on vacation or visiting family because I can't bring him with me.

I also don't consider giving him the run of the house or limiting my social life so I can spend as much time with him to be spoiling.

The way I see it, I am just cooperating in hopes that I will continue to be able to reside in this apartment with him (since I pay rent). I'd hate to come home some afternoon to find that he has changed the locks on me.

So you see, it isn't really spoiling. It's mere survival. I need a roof over my head and the last thing I want to do is piss off my master.

I go in the pet shop with the intention of getting Xander one of his essentials and come out with a java branch, big bag of millet and 7 new toys and 2 perches to try lol. A very special youtube friend in America who owns Quaker Parrots sent him this huge box of toys for Christmas, i couldnt believe it. Ill add the video to this post shortly.

At the end of the week if all training has gone well and his baths ect, i make him earn a treat and let him have 5 mins stood on his treat tub helping himself.

We are always working together on his perfect cage setup, still trying new things to his liking, i dont think anything will not be enough spoiling my little boy, i just cant help it, he jumps on me and kisses me and then bobs his head chirping away. How can we not spoil them :) x

Enzo - adopted Female CAG circa 2004. A truly amazing young lady!
Every single toy i have bought for Enzo has been given away as she pays no attention to them. She's a cheap date... I think her way of playing is to simply interact with me, which thankfully is free and whilst im not working/sleeping she generally has my undivided attention. My GF laughs as I even get up to spend time with her first thing in the morning, even sexy time takes 2nd place....

Nanny (my mom) spoils my GCC girl. When I have busy work weeks, retired nanny likes to have Kyo at her place where there are no cats and she is out with her for about 12 hours all day.

She gets into things, constant attention, gets away with bad behaviour, and is constantly on the go. At home, she's a good little girl who eats her fruits and veg and pellets, and at Nanny's she gets spoiled with way too many treats and potatoes and finds her way into the BUTTER sometimes (no allowed, but even when nanny hides it she sometimes finds a way to open the cupboard and get it!)

She is a very very loved member of our family.
