As always Salty is having fun. I've been studying your youtube videos to see your hanging play setup for Salty. Trying to figure out how to do it with Moosh now that I'm not afraid she will fall to her death.
Totes. Adorbs. If you have a video camera running at the exact moment Salty chews through enough to make the thing fall, you will win $10,000 on America's Funniest Home Videos.
On training, we, literally spend only 15 - 20 minutes a night , but it's every night without fail and at the same time every night.
For the hanging playstand, I used 2 round screw eyes and a 10 foot length of yellow plastic chain. The screw eyes go into ceiling joists or wall studs (good solid wood); do not trust wall anchors or other sheet rock fasteners. Try to keep the hole for the screw as small as possible, as parrots will find that little space around the screw or a small bit of sheet rock and use it to make a great BIG hole. I cut the chain links that will be attached to the screw eyes, with one side dangling down close to his cage. All his toys, the big ones, get hung from that. All parts were bought at the local bigbox hardware store.
