My precious boy Robin, who has been with me 23 years now, thankfully is healthy and still going strong :).

So the gang of teenage brats (the thugs) - Raven, Bronze Winged Pionus and Griffin, Ruppellā€™s Parrot are both 4 at this time (Raven is 7 months older than Griffin). Since becoming teenage boys theyā€™re personalities have undergone a marked change. They are usually up to no good together, but they have no problem causing trouble on their own.

Still the same silly weirdos, but they are just bolder now. They will try to get away with anything considered bad behavior at all costs, even if it means going back in their cage. They are trained to know certain words and commands, but will take every chance to defy me and see if they can push it. They have gotten a bit more territorial too. Not anything out of control though, since I set boundaries when they were younger. So it could be worse. Actually, they are good boys many times too :). Griffin is, and has always been a little ā€œcloser to the wildā€ than other hand fed parrots, and seems to have stronger wild instincts and more feral behaviors. He has his ways of showing he loves me.

Mink and Chip the English Budgies are cute as ever, and as Chip has matured, he started to become great singer. He does ā€œthe canaryā€ where his song contains all sorts of interesting sounds, complete with chirps, tweets, trills, bubbling, and thwacking noises.

Then Pinky and Patches, the Bourkes and Princess of Wales parakeets. If some of you remember, my mom who had developed Alzheimerā€™s last year was no longer able to care for her boys, so I took them to my home. That made 2 too many birds (and cages to clean). Ugh, although itā€™s too many birds for me, I just couldnā€™t rehome them. Iā€™ve loved those boys for a long time, as if they were always my own. I feel bad that I donā€™t have enough time for them. Even though they wonā€™t let humans touch them, they do like when humans visit and talk to them.

Iā€™d LOVE to have an indoor aviary here for them. One side for the budgies, and one side for the other keets. Theyā€™ll have more room to fly and socialize with each other, and I can just spray and floor squeegee the bottom instead of changing paper and cleaning grates (sorry but 5 is max, the 7 makes too many to clean). I do it anyway though! We are slowly renovating (mostly ourselves to save a ton of money) that this old house needs. That (the indoor parakeet aviary) is definitely one of the items on the list of home improvements!

Ok... recent pics of everyone coming :)

Thanks Scott! Pic probs again... The good pics are on my phone, and the Imgur didnā€™t work like it did from my iPad the other day, and I am pooped and donā€™t feel like fiddling with it and figuring it out now :(. Besides, they still look the same ;) lol.

Do you use the tapatalk app or the web browser? I find attaching itā€™s so much easier with the app!

I use the browser on iPad and Android phone. I donā€™t like to use the phone since itā€™s so small. The problem is, my good pics are on the phone, and being an android, it doesnā€™t ā€˜talk toā€™ the iPad. I canā€™t wait to get an iPhone again. All my problems with pics started happening when I got the android and then Photobucket cut us off.

Iā€™ll have to just download all my pics of the birds onto my desktop (which is in an impractical location) and post from there. I just havenā€™t had time to sit down for a while and do it. The dog pics were easy to share because of where they are.

I WILL get them on here fairly soon though. I have some great pics I really want to share! :)

These are not the good pics from my phone.. I just took these with my iPad quickly just now, because I wanted to post ā€œsomethingā€ until I have time to upload the better photos onto the desktop. I usually donā€™t take iPad pics because I donā€™t like the photo quality.

Love seeing everyone Julie! You have one of the most diverse/unusual flocks on the forum. Has the little grey devil one become any better with time? I know when you were on last, he was causing a lot of trouble for you.

So nice to see the old gang again! As well as 2 new faces and one extremely long tail! Wow! Keep those pics coming, my friend! Looking forward to the other pics locked away in your phone.

Thanks :)!

April, Griffin is still the little gray devil, but Iā€™ve learned his quirks and tendencies, which help. At least I got him back from the time period he went literally ā€œferalā€ all of a sudden for a still unknown reason. Took about a year to get him tame again, but he still would prefer to sit on me without being touched at all. Iā€™ll have to post the amazing transition and how I got him to the point he is now, in the Incredible Journeys section here when I get time one of these days.

Here are some quick pics from today.

This oneā€™s pretty funny. I canā€™t get it to go onto the other post with the pics above.

Wow lovely birdies you have. The bronze wing Pionus are stunning i think and the Red bellied parrot. What are they like both of them? X

Thank you.. :)

@Carl_Power - I always say that if my Bronze Winged was a person, heā€™d be a weirdo. But a lovable one :p. Heā€™s a super funny dork, has a sense of humor, really moody and crotchety, jealous, stubborn, and only likes to step up or get neck skritches for a few seconds when he wants to.

Robin is a sweetheart. He seems like heā€™s half domestic animal or something. I could write a whole book on how he differs from the typical parrot :). Iā€™ve had him his entire 23 years.

The little gray guy in the pic is Griffin, the crazy Ruppellā€™s Parrot.
