I’ve been buying spare copies of parrot books when i find them with the idea of forming a lending library. This way people could get some good info without having to buy a ton of books. The lending would be free, with the borrower just paying the postage. The Guild of Bookworkers has a similar system for members, but membership is expensive and they charge a deposit, so they have some leverage for getting books back.
Is this something you would find helpful? Say there was a joining fee - which would go toward getting more books to lend - and some kind of refundable deposit to make sure the books are returned....who woukd be interested? I have some if the harder to find books like the Beak Book which is expnsive, but full of really good information.
Suggestions, comments?
