I have not one, but two new birds. You may remember "Second bird - heart vs mind" post. I opted to go the breeder route. Instead of getting just one bird I decided to get siblings. At least if the resident bird and the new bird didn't get along I wouldn't have two birds completely dependent on me for companionship.
In June I got two 12 week old sisters. They are pineapple green cheeks. They came out of in-house quarentine at the beginning of July. It took a couple weeks, but I'm happy to report everyone gets along great.

Our 3 year old black-cap conure, Sassi, didn't learn how to fly until she was a year old. These two babies fly like fighter jets compared to her. Sassi can flap her wings to get from place to place; these two zoom around the house at mach-1.

Having two new flighted babies has had its training challenges. I'll post about those separately.
I just wanted to introduce the two new crazies.

Rosie, Apple Blossom (half hidden) and big sister Sassi.

Rosie is the ring leader. She will belly flop herself into the middle of whatever you are doing.

"AppleB" is reserved and prefers to observe from a distance and let others test the waters first, but she will go wherever Rosie goes.

Our Sassafras is a proper lady compared to these two. For the first two weeks she sat on our shoulders and watched the circus with us with a "What have you done?" look. (Ok, I may be anthropomorphizing a little.)

There was some pushing and shoving and pinching of toes. But then they discovered Miss Sassafras really likes to give preenings. After that, within 24 hours they gelled. Ingratiating yourself will get you everywhere!

Now it's pushing and shoving to get preened, and feet to the face when they eat and grabbing legs when they wrestle. So fun to watch! Of course they stop when I try to get video. I'll just have to video more often so they get used to it.
