What an amazing story and what an amazing owner and bird companion.

I always worry what happens to birds during natural disasters. You always see stories of dog and cats being rescued, but what about the birds.

Part of what amazed me with this story is that the Parront apparently rides his bike in the park with his Fid on his shoulder.

This macaw isn't the man's pet.. that's his feathered child, for certain!

The other part that surprised me was all the comments on the article. I expected to see a bunch of comments about endangering themselves for a "dumb bird" or something to that effect. But most comments were either pirate jokes or very supportive of the guy and his love for his fid.
