I went to the pet store to buy toys for my parrot and look what I found

They say it’s a TAG but I would say it’s kind of a mutation??
Anyway he/she is GORGEOUS

Very striking bird. Almost certainly a TAG and almost certainly the red factor mutation that occasionally occurs naturally in African grays. In fact, when I googled red factor African gray to confirm this was the mutation I was thinking of, I found your guy. This photo seems to appear on at least 2 sites that appear to be scam sites (they claim to sell fertile parrot eggs). Did you view this bird in person? If so, you might want to let the store owner know scammers are using this photo.

Really?? Yes I saw him in person. The pic I posted was on the Facebook of the store though. But I saw him.
I will take a video if I go back to the store this week!

Both sites claim to sell "fertile parrot eggs" too which basically equates to "we're definitely scammers!". You live in Belgium, which is in the EU which I think have pretty strict laws about stealing photos. I'd let the shop owner know. That's not good for their legitimate business where they're actually trying to sell this bird.

Wow, what a spectacular TAG. Very expensive however. As for the aggression im sure he/she will mellow when he feels safer in a home.

Oef, correct me if I am wrong but afaik most of the redfactor CAG's only show this much red in their juvenile plumage - the moment they get their adult feathers they go back to being (mostly) grey.

My first CAG had a few of those red ones all through his life- they were classified as "emperor african greys" at some point, untill it was discovered that a lot of the red featheres sprouting birds (we are waaaaay back in the 1970 here!) had liver-issues that were also thought to be responsible for the 'unnatural' colouring.
It's probably just genetics, not the crappy food

but it shows we've come a long way since then.

I did not know the TAG also got in the "lets breed them red"game.

Just so you know, both internal health issues and follicle damage can lead to red feathers. Be skeptical of anyone advertising red factor. I’m sure those more knowledgeable than I could tell you how to determine which is which but I couldn’t.

The RF Congos can sell for 15,000-30,000 per bird... depending on how red they are. (if I have those numbers correct...)

Don't know about Timnehs though.

And yes, as SilverSage mentioned, red feathers could also be due to other issues.

This is supposed to be a pied mutation, but I have my doubts... because a lutino AG is a white bird with a red tail. Therefore, a pied bird should have white feathers rather than red feathers.
