I just found out about this program that donates molted feathers to "Pueblo Indians of the Southwest". You can send in your parrots molted feathers and the nonprofit will send the feathers to Native Americans to minimize the amout of parrots that are killed to get a hold of their feathers.

Here is a link to the nonprofit https://www.feathersfornativeamericans.com

I just found this pretty cool, so i thought I'd share

I (and my parrot club friends) donated to some similar places when the Rb and I were living in New Mexico. It really felt good to have a meaningful source for donating. Thanks for supplying that.

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
Great idea!

Now 'repairing' severe wing clips (imping?) is getting more mainstream we should have more "featherbanks" as well, I think.

Feather banks and Dream Catcher Banks, for sure!

The Pueblos especially coveted Macaw and Amazon feathers when I was active.
