When you really just want to strangle them? Your fids I mean. I took Bo today to go bye bye and we drove almost an hour into the suburbs to go somewhere different to get some new toys. I let him pick his own toy, and a monster of a toy it was!

We get home and I have to rearrange his play stand again, the second time in two days, which is fine. I'll do it to put up my baby's new toy.

I don't even start to get it hung up, and he is already starting to play with it! It's been hung up for an hour now and he's been playing with the same part if his toy the entire time.

What makes you want to strangle your fids?

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
Where to begin....lately, it has been the 5:00 AM pellet smashing on the bottom of her seed skirt (she likes the sound and she has found that when she climbs down, she can wedge and shave a pellet by anchoring it against the slightly loose seed-skirt)--- SUPER LOUD and most likely hormonal...based on the way that she looks when I uncover her...Plus, it means I have to clean the cage grate compulsively because she is hanging out down there from time to time.

Hmmmm..When I hear: "COME HERE, COME HERE!!!" followed by me getting as close as possible and her continuing to say the same thing.. "COME HERE" is totally her phrase for "MAKE ME CONTENT NOW BY FIXING WHATEVER IT IS THAT IS LACKING OR ANNOYING IN MY LIFE AT THIS VERY MOMENT!!!"

The bad thing is that many people would find these things humorous, while I keep looking over my shoulder to make sure none of my birds are reading my computer screen.

Of course, another thing non-parrot people always think is "that birdie is talking! Isn't that so cool? I want one!" Sure, it's great, when they only know about 3 words. Between my CAG and DYH, who are both under 2, I sometimes worry that their combined vocabulary, screaming and assorted...sound effects, are going to eventually get the police, animal services, or child services called. Possibly just all three.

Sure is! He pulled the cardboard tag off of it and that's the most he's played with the entire toy. At least I got it as a toy to put on one of the play stands so even though I put it on the play stand that is primarily used by him, occasionally Gus, our CAG, decides he wants to go on that one and maybe he will play with it. (The other stand is a java tree and it just isn't a realistic toy for that stand, it would just hang under it and collect poop.)

I agree that they have a certain talent for causing trouble, but they are my favorite group of parrots by far. My first amazon was a blue front that was at least 20 years old, maybe older, named Willie. He came to me as a rescue after his primary owner passed away and then his wife's health deteriorated to the point she couldn't care for him anymore. He was in pretty bad shape health wise with arthritis and heart issues from a poor diet most of his life. He was ornery, and had a wall around him like concrete and liked no one. However, I didn't give up on him and once I got in... I learned what was in the amazon's heart. The love and loyalty and fierce spirit.

Strangle Consuela, my QP? NEVER! Stuff her into the freezer for a minute? Now there is an idea! Not. =) I just keep telling myself, "Shes a 4yr. old. A permanent 4yr.old. " =/

Oh I agree 100 times over with you, Al, I just wish he would play with the toy and not just the tag. He still hasn't really played with the toy other than to take a few passing nibbles out of a piece of wood.
