So I thought I would start a thread for people to tell us about products they (and their fids) LOVE! These could be anything from food to toys or cages or books about birds, literally anything that has something to do with our feathered family members. Also, if possible, include a link to where you can find said product on the webs.

I’ll start with something a little unusual...

The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser hand vacuum!

I don’t know about you guys but it’s a little exhausting to haul out the full sized vacuum every night. This thing is great! It picks up even large-ish chunks of balsa wood with ease and is small enough to actually use INSIDE Tori’s cage to get into the cracks that are otherwise hard to clean. I can normally go about 10-14 days between charges too!

Can’t wait to hear what everyone else can’t live without!

I don’t have much for parrots. Everything feels run of the mill, nothing really changed my life.

I’ll add for dogs, since we have MANY dog owners here, that a dual dog leash by Wigzi Absolutely changed my life! We dogsit on the Rover.com app, and often have 2-3 dogs with us at a time. having a dual dog lead makes it so much easier to walk dogs. Had no idea they were a thing until a client of ours brought one for her two dogs.

Air purifiers....Non ionizing, non-ozone producing...
Recently got an AlenAir Breathe-smart and I love it (expensive, but payment plan made it less than $60 a month and with a cockatoo, clean air is a must---both for bird and owner).

50 QUART stainless mixing bowl, to be susspended under your parrots favorite hang out spot, It will catch poops, dropped food and wood chips and is easy to clean. Add a round bar-b-que grill to keep them away from the dropped stuff, and you have really easy to clean system. We put a few paper towels in the bottom, and that makes it even easier. Price on Ebay is $80 but to us,it was sooooo worth it.

Poop-off, unscented baby wipes, my $10 spin broom for days when I don’t want to bend over to vacuum or sweep but hate having pellets and little wood chips on the hard floors, and the new pressure washer :).

Jacob the blue and gold macaw
Paper towels and newspapers, without those cleaning poop would be impossible. As for toys, Jacob absolutely loves chewing plastic stackable cups and boats which can be found at the dollar store. They are made for children and safe for parrots. We recently discovered how much he loves chewing those and they are so cheap. He spends so much time destroying those, he loves em so very much. Sure I have to pick em up off the floor often and clean the ones that fall in poop but it's worth it as he loves them so much, they are toys he can hold in his foot and take anywhere he wants to chew it.
Here is a video of him chewing a plastic boat:

I’ve never seen this before. Where did you get it? I’m curious about the ingredients.

All things come to he who has Amazon!

I think it is Birdman666 who swears by diluted Gain laundry detergent in a spray bottle though!

Gain laundry soap (no matter how dilute) is pretty scary! I can’t be anywhere near that stuff or I have trouble breathing and if my clothes have been washed with it I break out in huge welts and itch for a week! It doesn’t seem like that could be safe anywhere near birds!

I love this thread! I gotta get me one of those Bissel hand-vacs.

Here's my favorite things I can't live without (Parrot related):

Bissel Pet Hair Eraser vacuum. This thing is great, easy, light, and picks up anything and everything. Plus the canister and filters are super easy to clean.

Poop Off and F10 cleaner. Especially the F10 which I got in concentrate and makes enough to last years. Great stuff!

Trigger's favorite toy. It's the ultimate entertainment device and pacifier:

Well I gotta add Avian vets to the list (even though that isn't technically a product I feel as though it needs to be added to this list), my nearest one is like 9 hours away but it's worth the trip as the vet there saved Jacob's life more than once (he has bird asthma, I forget the proper term for it). It was my parents that had Jacob and went to the vet while I stayed home and took care of the rest of the birds so I don't even know if Jacob's vet is a man or a woman.

I totally forgot about this - my julep strainer! My little turds like turn much of their pellets into dust or small pieces, but there’s always lots of whole pellets underneath the shrapnel on top. I used to just dump their pellet bowls in the garbage and refill daily, and was wasting tons of pellets. Now I shake their pellet bowl through the julep strainer and dump the whole pellets back in the bowl. I always feed a little bit more than they usually eat in a day, so that they don’t run out through the day while I’m at work - but that was leading to a lot of waste. Now I just put back the whole pellets and add the new day’s pellets. Cut my pellet consumption by about a third.

Now don’t laugh! I’m sure everyone is aware how difficult it can be to keep rope perches and boings free from bird poop...well, I have FINALLY come up with a solution to this problem! A nail brush is PERFECT for getting dried c**p off of pretty much any surface but especially soft surfaces! (I happen to like this whale shaped one because the tail makes a great handle!)

So I don't buy paper towel. Just don't like using it in the kitchen etc. Well... we've had our Amazon since last Thursday and this morning I'm going to Sam's Club and buying their bulk paper towel pack LOL. Definitely see the value of paper towel now :D
