B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
Hey folks. Let's start a list of parrot and other bird documentaries or movies/shows. Something to help keep people distracted and lighthearted while staying at home. :smile015: Let's be there for each other, however we can be!

The ones I know of are:

The Parrots of Telegraph Hill

The Life of Birds

Paulie

"Duckumentary"

Rio

Freebirds(about turkeys.... not great, but cute if you have kids)

Chicken Run

What ones you got? Let's get a nice long list going!

Hands down the best I’ve seen is Parrot Confidential, a PBS documentary I think was on Netflix. All about the rehoming/poor care plight captive parrots deal with. Had me in tears by the end, along with my partner who isn’t too much a bird person

Currently I have none, but I have the capacity to adopt a minimum and maximum of two budgies - preferably a bonded pair or two males.
Hi Bug n Flock

Thank you for starting this wonderful thread.

Many great documentaries have already been shared.

The BBC Documentary Wild Bush Budgies is another amazing one

I've tried to watch that budgerigar one but it was too hard to see them die, especially as I had a budgie at the time. It was great to see how they behave in the wild and great facts about them for as far into it as I got, though!

This is a very short, light-hearted documentary about the wild Indian ringneck parakeets in London. Years later there are many more of them in the UK than the numbers given here but the same debate is ongoing. So far there has been no cull but they are allowed to be killed if they threaten commercial orchards etc., but in practice most people love them and feed them in private gardens and public parks alike.

I just watched "The real macaw". I wanted to watch it few years earlier but somehow didn't and suddenly I reminded about this movie today 😅 It's not a documentary but I see that OP also mentions non-documentary movies.

I looked at the post from 2020 and I see I haven't mentioned "the Unnatural History of the Kakapo"
