Please spare a thought.....

Please spare a thought and do not use snuggle huts or happy huts. They are completely unnecessary and dangerous. I read about a baby budgie breaking his pelvis bone today after the owner put a snuggle hut in there . Obviously the budgie was euthanised
They are a habitat for bacteria and they are harmful if consumed. The loose threads can strangle your baby or hang him. They cause the dangerous chronic egg laying and sometimes aggressiveness in males, especially budgies and small parrots. I know some people use them for larger parrots but in my mind they are way too dangerous. Stores that sell them do it for money, not for the well-being of your parrot. I would happily strangle the person who invented them, as I have had quite a few people asking me, "I bought a snugglehut and my single budgie laid an egg, why?" . Egg laying is not healthy.
Budgies and other parrots alike do not need these in the wild, and humans are forever trying to 'humanize' animals. They do not need them for warmth, believe it or not, birds have feathers made specially for that purpose.
My budgies are out in about 17 degrees Celsius right now after a few days of 35 degree + weather. They look like little tennis balls with tails and heads.
Please spare a thought, others will not agree with me, but I would never risk giving my birds something like this.

I have something sort of like this but it doesn't have all the strings and stuff. It is just made out of fleece which is much easier to clean and I can wash it in the washer with anything else Bella has to be washed. I know which kind you are talking about but for other people looking for information there are alternative snuggle huts etc out there. I think on my page her sleep tent will be in the background of her pictures
