How would I know if my bird has pdd before he got ill and vomited and it smelt bad, stopped eating and I though he would die. I then gave him ACV in his water for a week or so and then probiotics after that and he has been better since. Visually looking at his poop it looks healthy sometimes when I squash it though it has 1 or 2 of these brown small pieces, dont look anything like seed. He has dried corn in his seed mix this couldnt be causing his symptoms right. Where I am access to vets it's very limited the nearest vet is 4 to 5 hours away and they arent a specialist they mainly treat farm animals. His condition hasn't worsened, surely if it was something like pdd ACV wouldnt have stopped the other symptoms and because his vomit smelt so bad I though it must have been a yeast infection or something similar to that.
What do you think. He deteriorated at the start of June but it hasn't come back since then. Could it be that the yeast got contained back to his intestines.

PDD is not the only thing that causes bits of food to pass. It could be bacterial as well. You would have to get a test to know if it was PDD for sure, but ACV wuldn't have made PDD better.

I think here we can get medications for bird without a prescription so once I 100 percent know what this is I will get the medication. But seeing hes been fine since june I think i should wait as i dont want to give him the wrong medication. I'm thinking its more likely a yeast what medication would be used for this. I understand you are not a vet.

Some people here think I'm mad thinking and worrying so much over a bird. I understand that it can be caused by many things and that without proper testing its impossible to know exactly what's causing it. Thank you for your continued support.

I do know of one bird vet but its expensive and pretty far away although I am saving up and when I get a job I will go there hopefully that will solve it.

When you say there are chunks in the poop, what do you mean exactly--- I know it's gross. but a picture would help. If it's just like little tiny brown flecks (and not chunks you can feel) it can be normalish. I just want to make sure we know what you are describing, because my bird's poop has some bits that are slightly different than the rest (depending on diet) but you can't feel them...

You are 500% right to worry about a bird because they are so sensitive and when you love them, you don't want to lose them
Is poop still smelly?
100% of the time for me personally, when Noodles poop smelled repeatedly, it was bacterial...although there was one time when it smelled and I didn't take her to the vet and it just resolved on it's own (but in that case, she only produced 1 smelly poop). A single smelly poop is not always a huge red flag, but def something to watch carefully. If it's 2 or more that smell, then we go to the vet...I called the vet for consult when it was just the 1 poop and the rest smelled normal.

The poop didnt smell sorry it was his vomit that stank when he was ill

These are pics I have saved on phone sorry it's so blurry I'll get better pics tomorrow if I can find pieces. The picture is when he was severely ill now its max 2 to 3 pieces. I'll removed the dried corn from his diet for a day or so too see if that helps.

if you can get a close-up of the chunks you said you continue to see, that might help. Again, can you feel them, or do they just look different?

I can feel them when I seperate them they are very hard dont know how to compare them almost like rocks. Tomorrow I will get better pics when its seperaed from the poop

Could it be worms yesterday I saw this thing in his poop that looked like a worm although it was a bit fatter than what a worm looks like.

I suppose it could be-- the hardness is odd, which implies undigested food (in my opinion) but there are things that can cause food to pass through too quickly (therefore leaving hard chunks). Could possibly be worms, but again, hard to know...Is your bird outside a lot? Do not do any worming treatments without more certainty

No my bird has never been outside we have worming treatments here. I always wash the fruit and veg I give him.

The only symptom he has right know is sometimes having pieces in poop not all the poops. Other than that he is fine although in June he did get sick and was vomiting and not eating. I gave him apple cider vinegar and he got better.
