Hey:

I know I have mentioned this store many times, this is the place that Christy and I love to shop. It's an "open concept bird" store where they have as many parrots out of cages as they can suring the day. They have a ton of toys and their prices aren't much more expensive than the BIG STORES that we all hate.

I have seen so many great birds in there, and the neat thing is that there aren't that many that we have seen twice (we've been there 3 or 4 times now and there are only a few birds that are always there ... two of them belong to the owner, Concetta. She has a 9-month yellow naped that sits and sings, and talks, and welcomes people ... and she just got a QUEEN OF BAVARIA CONURE :32: what a beautiful, beautiful bird) there is one B&G macaw that is there, but there isn't that much call for macaws around here ..

So, check out the site, (you can't order from the site, it's just informational, and I am not even sure that she is going to go that route.) and check out the rooms that the birds get to hang out in, along with all the toys!!

Tex, or should I say Jason, anyway I love that Pet Store, (Yep me the pet store hater :D loves it) its clean lots of toys, and the birds wow they look so happy and healthy. Its perfect, I would be down there everyday if I lived there.

There's one problem with it that I can see, and its a big one, :( ITS IN THE US AND IM IN THE UK.

Kelli, your pet store looked good also, but do the birds stay in them small box kinda cages. :(

Meghan, wish we could have seen the actual store.

Im going to the bird store tomorrow. But the only thing is they dont have any Live parrots there. The think its bad for them to be left ina store(which i agree with in alot of ways) You can see her birds though in the about us section. aha You'd probably like ALL her grey yes she has 6 african greys. most are or all are rescued.

no the small cages you probably saw are in the boarding area for people's little birds. They actually have a large aviary like 8 feet by 4 feet with various finches. and they have large cages for their other birds as well they mostly have baby birds for sale where you reserve your bird and they finish feeding it for you. Hope this cleared up a little stuff :) most cages are large play pen style against a wall with lids so they can have breaks.

This is the bird store I like around here best (partly because it's one of the only ones), but it's very clean inside and the birds are well socialized.

The only thing I don't quite care for is that they have a TON of wood toys, which are great...but foraging toys and 'interactive' toys are few and far between. Also..the website isn't that great, but it's still a great place to go. It's where we got Sisqo.

only 3 hours away... although I bet if I took back roads I could get there quicker :D

It's a small store, not large by any means ... but everyone there is wonderful and the birds that aren't out, are in cages, but the cages aren't locked and you can interact with any of the birds that you want to ...

You'll have to let us know Chi if you are going and we can coordinate a trip and meet you there! Then we can come back here and brag about a great shop!

Nicole, that looks amazing. Wish we had something like that here, even if only for the toys. That seems to be a problem most places, the foraging and interactive toys are very few and far between.

Tex and Chi, That sounds brilliant, our first PF meet and by the looks of it you couldn't pick a nicer place.

We went to a large Pet store today, looking for cages really, but had to stop in and have a look at the birds :D Last time we went they were amazing, Greys, B&G's Greenwing, Cockatoos, I was really looking forward to seeing them all again, but have to say I was bitterly dissappointed, The Greenwing had a wonderfully large cage, but only a boing in there, B&G had this metal ring and that was his only toy, the cage well, when he stood on the floor his beak would touch the bars and his tail was sticking out the end. The Greys, well what a state they looked, healthy enough but no toys and a tiny cage for the 3 baby's that were in there, I wouldn't put Kito in one of them and he was a few weeks younger than them. As you can imagine I had to say something. I wouldn't even get Kito's cage from them after that.

well my bird store that i goto sucks. the toys are outragously priced. theres no birds at the store. and on top of that the store owner talk like you wouldn't beleive. thank-god i didn't say i was getting a senegal when i picked up the food or i would ahve been tehre all day listening to her! and i also looked at some cages there were a few cute ones..
