Is this safe
https://www.amazon.co.uk/QVS-Shop-Ex...945958&sr=8-29
Would this be safe to use around birds as my ringneck is aggressive and I'm going to use this to cover the top half of his cage so I can let my parakeets out. |

Re: Is this safe
I understand but he keeps trying to bite the budgies feet as they like landing on his cage it's an accident waiting to happen and I dont know what to do.

Re: Is this safe
I'm assuming that you are not using a sleeping cover for your Parrots cage. I would look at taking a standard bed, bedsheet and fold it up so that it covers the top of the cage.
If nothing else, it will tell you if this concept will work or not, and your cost into it - Zero!

Re: Is this safe
Get clear acrylic sheet from home depot or lowes that's what I use. Its a clear hard plastic.

Re: Is this safe
Plastic doesn't breathe no air flow and in order to keep the budgies safe you will have to cover the sides as well because they will hang on the side of the cage.
But if you use a light color cloth material light will go through it and it should be ok for the time the budgies are out. |

Re: Is this safe
No, you're not building or creating a hut (nest), it is simply a cover on top of the cage and regardless of what is used, it is just a cover over the wide open sides.

Re: Is this safe
I just thought of something else.
What do you do when your ringneck is out. Doesn't he attack the budgies cage? |

Re: Is this safe
No not really it's more the budgies flying to him cause they are so friendly but he does sometimes land on it so I just cover it with paper and he doesn't land on it
