Bird Room Question

I know that some people have rooms specifically just for their birds.

Well, I tried setting up a bird room but I only have the one parrot. Crackers would scream for attention ALL the time. I walked into the room and he would scream. I would spend time in there with him but that didn't seem to help. He had all kinds of toys and things to do. I never rewarded the squawking either but rather ignored it and rewarded the noises that I like. He just didnt seem happy though.

Anyhow, I rearranged all my furniture this past weekend and moved Crackers in the living room. There is minimal squawking now and he seems happier. I like having him there too. He just wants to be in the middle of all the action and I am fine with that.

I was wondering for those of you that have bird rooms, how do your birds react to being in their own room and would you suggest having multiple birds before setting up a seperate room just for your birds?

From all the reading I have done it was written that we should keep our birds in the room that has the most activity. I think bird rooms would be for people with multiple birds.

Well lets see We have 19 oops scratch that 17 Birds We gave away a couple of budgies....We have a big bird room and 3 of the birds we bring out daily to the living room 2 be with us---CAG "Theo", Goffins Cockatoo "Gandolf", and "Caesar" Sun Conure. Each one has their own play center in the living room. We learned the hard way that WE were condoning bad behavior when it came to screaming when the birds were left alone. We didn't realize that giving ANY ATTENTION to screaming was reenforcing the bad behavior. It took awhile 2 learn that
The system that we have now works quit well. Our biggest screamer is ort Sun Conure "Caesar" part of it is his breed and we have learned 2 live with it
With just having one bird U really don't have 2 have a Bird Room. U just need 2 make sure that your bird has a QUIT place for 10-12 hours of undisturbed sleep for good health and behavior.

I was starting a bird room because I am going to be adding a couple more but like you both said, I think it is best to just keep them where the activity is. I dont plan on having too many due to space constraints but I just wanted to get some information.

Like I said, I rearranged furniture in every room and everything is so much better! I have plenty of room for a couple more birds in the living room. Moving furniture is Tetris for adults. LOL
