About a year after loosing Lady, Pinky started plucking her feathers. First under her wings and then along her back.:02:
I felt from the start it was due to psychological reasons not physical. After several Vet visits with no results and no improvement I was at my wits end.

My two male Tiels had no interest in her, at best they ignored her and at worse they would chaser her away whenever she got too close. I thought the only thing I could do was to was buy another Tiel in an attempt to find her a friend.

When the local pet shop (family owned not a big box store) had a good selection of Tiels I picked out the least aggressive and most friendly bird. We named her Sunny.

Sunny and Pinky did not bond. They did not fight but there was no grooming or even perching next to each other.

Sunny turned out to be the most people friendly Tiel I had ever had. She loved to have her neck scratched and my Son spent a lot of time with her.
Too much time with her.
He had been petting her back and ended up stimulating her into laying a clutch of sterile eggs.

On the plus side we knew beyond doubt she was a she.
On the negative side we had to lessen our interaction with her to avoid repeating this mistake.

She is now the mother of two clutches of babies (through the father Cheeky the last cockatiel purchase).:35:

We are now almost to the end of MY story and how I ended up with so many birds. Just 2 left
Cheeky my whiteface Tiel :white1:
And Bella the African grey.

Great story!I love 'tiels, especially the little girls. The ones I have known had been so sweet and quiet and loving...
I wish the Rickeybird would let me get one.

If it was up to my Bingo I would not have any other birds or even my wife.
When my wife walks to close to his cage he rams his beak into the cage bars to show how unhappy he is with her.
If one of my other amazon's climb on top of his cage he goes nuts trying to get them.

I think I may be able to let my cockatiels interact with Bella my African Grey. I just don't know how to do it safely. Things could go badly so quick I could not intervene fast enough.
What does your Rickeybird do that keeps you from having anything else ?

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
That is definitely a very "sunny" story! Love to hear tales with great outcomes!!
