A cockatiel, a bourke, and three budgies
One of my budgies almost flew away from me! Her name was Clicky.
Clicky loved to come outside with me unfortunately I never had a harness or flight suit on her! I was never concerned about her flying away because she was clipped and I was young and stupid. I now know that a clipped bird can still get away, but back then I didn't. I had her out with one day, and a blue jay scared her. She fell to the ground and ran! Luckily I could see her very well in the grass, she was pure white. But that meant other birds could also see her. She ran into the woods, and somehow got up into a tree. I wasn't able to reach her, so I got my tree climbing sister to climb up the tree. Clicky was brought back inside and she was never outside again. If I knew about harnesses and flight suits back then I would have got one for her. She loved to come outside, I loved having her outside, until that day. She passed away 3 years later. More on that coming soon (January 28th to be exact.)

I'm also glad Clicky's story had a happy ending but the experience must have been terrifying.

As someone who has experienced a loved parrot fly away, never to be seen again, I am so glad that you had a happy end to Clicky's outside experience. I wish more folks would take away something from yours and other stories of this. Its one of the harder things to read on the board.
