Cookie saw a chick (Bak-Bak) eat for the first time yesterday. S/he was very curious to what Bak-Bak was and even took some of Bak-Bak's food:p.

Here's a picture and a video of the meeting:)

Cookie is absolutely adorable :) He seems to be fascinated by the chicken!
Judging by the whistling and heart wings display, Cookie is most likely a male.

Ah yes s/he was certainly interested in her XD.

I was also thinking Cookie is a male because of his/her vocalness(?) but we'll see :D

Yeah, I think it’s safe to assume that Cookie is a male purely because of those vocalizations. My female ’tiel Ducky doesn’t do anything close to that. She just does the normal cockatiel chirping but never any whistling. Cookie sang that song beautifully :D

Have you ever seen Cookie do beak banging, hopping, or strutting back and forth in front of a mirror? Those are other characteristic behaviors of male cockatiels, along with the classic “heart wings” which he did in the video.

I haven't seen him/her do any of the things you mentioned. When s/he's in front of a mirror s/he looks at me like "is this a new bird friend?".

Also the song s/he was trying to sing was 'if your happy and you know it"

Why don't we all have a look at this trio?

On the left we have Crippi, a 7 month old male lutino 'tiel hatched on 22 September 2018.

On the right, Toepee (Not his/her actual name just a we gave him/her to avoid calling him/her "the bird/ringneck"), a 6 week old IRN we were given by our uncle to wean and sell. Gender unknown and hatch date unknown. (approx hatch date: 1 April)

In the middle, Cookie! 4 months old, (probably) male white faced 'tiel hatched on 22 December 2018.

Also, Cookie was showing off his singing skill when this picture was taken:p

Cookie got a new cage! It's a still a little bit too small but it's the best we can afford right now..Also it's a little bit bigger than his old cage. But even though Cookie's gonna live in the cage..Topee (pronounced Toe-pea) is going to live in it until s/he's sold.
But anyways, here's a pic of Cookie's new cage (also in the 2nd pic, I didn't force him in, he went in by himself)

Cookie's been working on recall training and he's pretty good. He comes to me even when I don't call him...so I guess he's a little bit too good.:p

Here's a video:
(if your wondering what I said at the end I was asking Cookie if he wanted head scratches)

Cookie's going through his first molt right now. Feathers everywhere!

He was already a somewhat fiesty anaconda (that's just a nickname I have for him) and now he's even more of a fiesty anaconda.

He might be enjoying some head scritches and then attack my fingers. He does not bite hard though. And then 2 seconds later he'll ask for head scritches again.

And he seems to have forgotten recall. Not a problem, I'll just teach him recall again..

Luna // F // Whiteface Pearl Cockatiel
That's what I'm going through with Luna as well! Cockatiels don't seem to be as bad as some other species with puberty. The mood swings though! I hope it'll be over for Cookie asap and his itchy times!

I'm sure he'll pick up recall again in no time.

So today we switched Cookie's and Crippi's cages. Cookie is in Crippi's cage and Crippi in Cookie's. We did this to see their reactions.

Cookie doesn't mind, as a matter of fact, he likes being in Crippi's cage. Well, Crippi's cage is more spacious than his (Cookie) own.

Crippi didn't mind too much either. Though he's not necessarily liking it either.

It felt so weird walking past Cookie's cage, and instead of seeing a gray cockatiel, I see a much lighter entity. I'm also not used to seeing a darker entity instead of a yellow/white cockatiel XD.

Also here's a list of all the words Cookie says (including whistles)

1- Whatcha doing? (he says it in 2 different ways)
2- Hello
3- What did you do? (I have no idea where he learned it. I never said it to him)
4- Cookie, Cookie, Cookie, Cookie
5- Dhonbe (The Dhivehi word for "older brother")
6- An off key version of 'if your happy and you know it"
7- Screams ;)
